Snow for early June?
Northern and Eastern Iceland will be worst affected by a prevailing north wind this week, with snow possible on high ground.
While some roads in Eastern Iceland are currently affected by slush and ice, some southern parts will be basking in spring temperatures of up to 13°C.
Northerly winds have already brought cloudy and rainy conditions to the north of Iceland and temperatures are forecast to drop tonight, turning rain to sleet and even snow on high ground. Bright and mild conditions should dominate Southern Iceland.
This north-south divide should last through to Wednesday, after which showery conditions will begin to affect the entire country.
According to forecasts, Sunday should see drier, brighter and warmer conditions from the west for all parts of the country.
