Hvalfjörður tunnel closed Thursday night

The Hvalfjörður tunnel, which cuts the Hvalfjörður fjord will be closed for maintenance between 8.p.m tomorrow night (May 7th) and 6.a.m on Friday morning. This was announced by the road administration today. 

Travellers around Iceland will therefore have to take the scenic, and longer route between north Iceland and the capital.
