Where will you be watching the eclipse?
Many people will be watching the eclipse tomorrow. Primary-school children will be going out onto the playground with their teachers, the Icelandic neo-pagans will be meeting on Öskjuhlíð, while others will be gathering by Perlan, Hallgrímskirkja and Harpa.
mbl.is will be following the eclipse closely and bringing it to you in words and pictures. The live broadcast can be seen here.
According to the Icelandic Met Office, the eclipse should be visible to most people in Iceland tomorrow. The cloud cover will be thin everywhere, except Eastern and Northern Iceland where clouds may mask the momentous event.
The eclipse will last around two hours. In Reykjavik it begins at 8:38am, reaches its climax at 9:37am, and finishes 10:39am. Times may vary by a few minutes either way in other parts of the country.
A live broadcast of the solar eclipse will be on mbl.is on Friday morning if conditions permit. read more about that here.
