Very strong local wind gusts

Very strong local wind gusts may by expected in the afternoon near mountains in the north and near Vatnajökull glacier, up to 45 to 55 m/s. Today wind gust can go up to 35 to 45 m/s in all parts accoring to the The Icelandic met office.

Whole country - Forecast for next 24 hours:

Southwest 18 to 25 m/s, but 13 to 20 in the southwest. Drizzle or rain, but mainly dry in northeast and east. Temperature 5 to 10, but up to 15 deg in Austfirðir. Cooling with sleetshowers and later snowshowers in the western part tonight and decreasing wind in the evening.
