The much celebrated Dill restaurant in Reykjavik lost its Michelin star last night, a star they acquired last year, the first ever Icelandic restaurant to do so.

Managing director Ólafur Ágústsson says that they are slightly taken aback by the news. "Which means we will try even harder and come back stronger. And make the experience for our guests even better than it is today. We simply hope that Michelin will come back again to enjoy our food and wine."

He adds that since receiving the star they've been incredibly proud. "We've had a wonderful time, it's been very rewarding and a learning process. We've tried very hard and placed all our ambition into pleasing our customers."
