1.250 guests per day at the new Grandi food hall in Reykjavik
Three months have passed since the new food halls at Grandi fish packing distsrict in Reykjavik harbour opened. Guests of Grandi Mathöll count 115 thousand in the first months since opening.
According to today's edition of Morgunblaðið these figures exceed expectations by the managers of the building.
Grandi Mathöll is the second food hall to open in Reykjavik, the first, at Hlemmur, opened over a year and a half ago. Both have proved extremely successful and have brought vibrancy to each respective area.
Manager of Grandi Mathöll Franz Gunnarsson said speaking to Morgunblaðið, "This popularity exceeds our best expectations. It shows that Icelanders are really loving street food."
