Fake snow and road signs in English are now seen all over in downtown Keflavík but shooting for the fourth season of True Detective is planned in the town for the next few days. Kjartan Már Kjartansson, the mayor of Reykjanesbær, says everything is going well in the preparation for the shooting, but it is the production company True North thatis working on changing Keflavík into Alaska in USA.
"It looks like it is all going great and it will be fun to see how it works out," says Kjartansson to mbl.is.
As has been reported earlier, the HBO's True Detective is being shot in Iceland and Jodie Foster plays the leading part.
"People are driving around - a lot"
"People are very excited about this project here in town and people are driving around - a lot. Now True North is building a set on Hafnargata which is our main shopping street. There are a lot of people observing right now, but once the shooting starts the area will be closed down for traffic for a few hours," says Kjartansson.

When he was asked if he had heard any negative voices regarding the lock down for traffic to come, he says he has not heard anything of the sort. "If there have been any voicing concerns, those voices have been very muted."
THe shooting in Keflavík starts tomorrow, Monday, and will be throughout the week.
