A cat named Rósalind, nicknamed Rector Rósalind and known for roaming the buildings of the University of Iceland, passed away in January, mbl.is reports.

Rósalind made the news in April of last year when she went missing for three months. The news report back then stated she was last seen in the building Askja, where she attended a meeting with earth scientists.

Her death was announced on the University’s Facebook page. “This tiny member of the university community delighted students as well as staff and always went its own way on campus,” the post reads. “With affection and gratitude, we say goodbye to this curious female cat.”

A video was posted in Rósalind’s memory. You can watch it below. The subtitles read as follows:

The curious cat has passed away.

She truly enriched our lives on campus...

and delighted students as well as staff.

Rósalind was the happiest at the University cafeteria,

which was no surprise, since she was exceptionally social.

She supported students in their studies

and had a good time in the basement of the University.

She attended lectures and visited the offices of professors,

and appeared at times to be one of the University Book Store’s best sales persons.

The beautiful cat paid the University Rector a visit as well, which is why she earned the nickname Rector Rósalind. She was known to covet that position.

She never failed to show up at University events and was one of the regulars at the University cafeteria.

Now, she has bid farewell to the last of her nine lives, and it is clear that she’ll be sorely missed on campus.

The University community will never be the same without her.

Let’s keep her memory alive. Long live Rector Rósalind.

All of us, who work at the University, will miss Rósalind. She visited us the night the Fagradalsfjall eruption started and closely watched our earth scientists at work.

Thank you for everything, Rósalind.
