Chance to Experience Christmas Spirit of the Past
The Árbær Open Air Museum in Reykjavík is getting ready for the holiday season. This is where you can experience the Christmas spirit of the past. The Christmas tree has been lit on the square, and exhibitions in the museum houses Lækjargata and Suðurgata give insight into Christmas celebrations in Reykjavík in the olden days.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, however, no organized Christmas programs will be offered at the Open Air Museum this holiday season. Still, the museum houses are open every day between 1 and 5 pm, and the museum grounds are always available to visitors outside opening hours.
The Settlement Exhibition in Aðalstræti and the Reykjavík Maritime Museum at Grandi are open every day between 10 am and 5 pm. The Reykjavík Museum of Photography is open between noon and 5 pm during weekdays and 1–4 pm on Saturdays. At the Reykjavík Museum of Photography, you can see the exhibition
