Hatari's family ties lead directly to the Icelandic ministry of foreign affairs, RÚV reports. If the dark techno presentation of hate offends Israel they at least have plenty of diplomatic connections to help them out of trouble.

Hatari, as we reported on Sunday, are made up of band members Klemens Hannigan, Matthías Tryggvi Haraldsson and Einar Hrafn Stefánsson.  They play industrial, dark-wave techno clad in cyber goth/ BDSM gear.

Einar Hrafn Stefánsson, the drummer in the spiky leather mask  is the son of Stefán Haukur Jóhannesson, Iceland’s ambassador in London who was part of the negotiating committee when Iceland applied for European Union membership.

Klemens is the son of Nikulás Hannigan, who is head of division in the trade office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He recently gave Iceland’s address at the United Nations General Assembly on the situation in Syria. Klemens’s mother is Rán Tryggvadóttir—a lawyer who specialises in intellectual property rights.

Matthías Tryggvi is the son of artist Gunnhildur Sigrúnar Hauks and of Haraldur Flosi Tryggvason, owner of legal firm  LMB Mandat and former chair of Reykjavík Energy. Haraldur Flosi’s sister is Rán, Klemens’s mother, who works for LMB Mandat.
