The abstract beauty of glaciers

Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson has captured the beauty of Iceland for decades. In a new exhibition at Ásmundarsalur gallery in Reykjavik he exhibits photographs of Icelandic glaciers as you've never seen them before.

"I don't use drones, I want to take the photos myself," he said speaking to Iceland Monitor at the opening of his exhibition, Jöklar. "I have to hold the camera myself."

Axelsson made the book in cooperation with graphic designer Einar Geir Ingvarsson and the photographs have been taken in the space of ten years, although mostly in the last couple of years.

The exhibition runs at Ásmundarsalur until November 30th.
