Last night’s outdoor performance of the US rock band Guns N’ Roses in Laugardalur, Reykjavík, went well, according to the Reykjavík Metropolitan Police. This was one of the largest musical events ever held in Iceland, with an estimated 25,000 people in attendance.

Young and old fans were pleased with the band’s performance. “This exceeded our expectations,” remarked Orri Páll Ormarsson, reporter for Morgunblaðið .“I saw them when they were budding 30 years ago, and it’s amazing that these guys are still going strong.”

Traffic went well, and most guests had left the venue shortly after midnight. The weather cooperated and stayed mostly dry and mild. One man was arrested for assault, and four had to be removed from the arena due to intoxication.

The whole event was about six-hour long, with the legendary Guns N’ Roses playing for more than three hours. The band members plan to stay in Iceland for a while and travel the country. The event was the finale to their European tour, Not in This Lifetime, giving them a reason to take it easy now and travel.
