9% of Icelanders suffer from depression
According to the European health survey, Icelanders are in fourth place as the most depressed European nation. Young women are most likely to suffer from depression, with a ratio of 11 percent to 7 percent of men.
The country with the highest number of people suffering from depression is Hungary, around 10 percent. In Sweden, the number of people suffering from depression is around 9 percent, Norway and Denmark at around 6 percent an Finland at under 5 percent.
