Cursed Icelandic island for sale
The state of Iceland has decided to sell the island Málmey in Skagafjörður, North Iceland. The buyer is the local municipality, which also owns the other two islands of the fjord, Drangey and Lundey.
Málmey was inhabited by farmers until the 1950’s, when the last farm burned down. There are many legends about the island which say that it is cursed. The story has it that if a family lives there more than 20 years the housewife will either go mad or disappear.
