Iceland Airwaves started with a blast last night and tonight the festivities continue with a wide variety of music to cater to all tastes.

For us, tonight is all about rock and roll: The Sonics, Fufanu and JOHNNY ROTTEN.

Here are our picks for tonight:

Dj Flugvél og Geimskip at Gamla bíó at 21:40.  She's been compared to a young Björk and her performance is bound to be one of the most extraordianary and unusual things you will witness at the festival. Thoroughly recommended.

John Lydon, otherwise known as Johnny Rotten will be spitting out lyrics at  the special "Airwords" event at Kaldalón hall in Harpa at 21:50.

For rock'n'roll fans, there's a blast of a line-up at Harpa's Silfurberg tonight. Oyama , a fantastic Icelandic shoegaze band hit the stage at 20:50, followed by Iceland's answer to The Jesus and Mary Chain: vetaran psych rockers Singapore Sling at 21:40. Next up, rising stars of Icelandic rock, Fufanu at 22:40 with the climax of the evening being US garage band The Sonics who rose to fame in the mid 1960's with hits such as Strychnine, Psycho and Have Love, Will Travel. The Sonics start at 00:10.
