Icelandic landscapes in downtown Manhattan
March 16 sees the opening of an exciting new exhibition at New York’s Robin Rice Gallery displaying a beautiful collection of aerial images of Iceland.
The collection is called ‘Aerial Abstracts’ and the photographs are the work of Zack Seckler, taken while flying over Iceland’s rugged and awesome landscape in an ultra-light aircraft.
“In his new exhibition, […] Seckler captures a beautifully abstracted natural perspective that is as staggeringly momentous as it is delicate,” reads the gallery’s website.
“Picturing various natural and animal forms, from birds to seals, we get a true sense of his astonishing journey. With strong figures and forms, we also begin to feel the sheer power of Iceland's frigid tundra, though, because of Seckler's careful composition, we also understand the subtlety and magic of his experience.”
