Eivør and the Legend of the Seal Woman

Faroese singer and songwriter Eivør Pálsdóttir and composer Peter Jensen have together written a retelling and musical interpretation of the Faroese Legend of the Seal Woman, performed tonight at Harpa concert hall.

The Legend of the Seal Woman is a tale with action and a moral presented in an exciting musical setting with samples of both natural sounds and hymns by Thomas Kingo resonating in the background. The Legend of the Seal Woman has been specifically composed and arranged for the Danish Radio Big Band and the Danish National Vocal Ensemble and is conducted by Geir Lysne.
