Oscar nomination for Iceland’s Jóhannsson
Hot on the heels of a BAFTA nomination last week, Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson has been nominated for an Oscar for best original score.
The Oscars award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on 28 February and Jóhannson will be up against: “Bridge of Spies”, Thomas Newman; “Carol”, Carter Burwell; “The Hateful, Eight” Ennio Morricone; and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, John Williams.
Sicario is a thriller starring Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro directed by Denis Villeneuve.
