The world-famous Vienna Boys’ Choir will be performing at two events at Reykjavik’s Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre next month – and one of the singers will be 13-year-old Icelander Magnús Kiljan Hlynsson.

The young Icelander has been a member of the internationally renowned boys’ choir since 2013 and has just one year left, as the age requirement for members is 10-14 years old.

Magnús has had a glittering experience with the choir for one so young, having travelled to countries such as Brazil, Canada, Chile, Japan and the United States to delight audiences with his fellow singers.

Now the group is coming to Iceland and Magnús is looking forward to showing his friends the delights of his home country.

“I would like to show them Þingvellir, Gullfoss, Geysir and the Blue Lagoon,” says Magnús. “But most of all I hope we catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.”

Are you in or near Reykjavik at the end of February? Then check out the Harpa website for information and ticket sales for the Vienna Boys’ Choir concerts.
