Three Icelandic artists have been nominated for a GRAMMY music award at the 58th Annual GRAMMY Awards to be held in February.

Icelandic artists Björk, Jóhann Jóhannsson and Of Monsters and Men have been put up as potential winners in the following categories:

  • Björk – Best Alternative Music Album, for ‘Vulnicura’
  • Jóhann Jóhannsson – Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, for ‘The Theory of Everything’
  • Of Monsters and Men – Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package, for ‘Beneath The Skin’

The award – to be awarded for the 58th year in 2016 – is described on the GRAMMY website as “[t]he recording industry’s most prestigious award [honouring] excellence in the recording arts and sciences. It is […] awarded by and to artists and technical professionals for artistic or technical achievement, not sales or chart positions.”
