Iceland Airwaves: Day one
The festival touted as "The hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar," by The Rolling Stone kicked off yesterday. A multitude of bands, Icelandic and international performed at numerous venues all over the city centre.
Among the Icelandic bands performing last night were Árstíðir, Börn, Æla, Muck, Mosi Musik, Magnús Leifur and Reykjavíkurdætur.
For those without a bracelet we recommend checking out the off-venue schedule which is jam-packed with a bunch of excellent bands.
Tonight the festivities continue with some of the highlights including Father John Misty, Mercury Rev, Mr.Silla, HAM and John Grant accompanied by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
