Noodles to rock your socks off
In recent years, noodle shops have sprung up all over the city centre. Here's our pick of the most scrumptious in the city centre.
1. Núðluskálin
This modern, tiny noodle restaurant on central Skólavörðustígur serves an excellent variety of noodles which they call "asion fusion." Offering delicately aromatic concoctions with lots of fresh herbs and sometimes a coconut base. Good options for vegans and vegetarians.

2. Ruan Thai / Núðluhúsið
Cheap (for Iceland) and cheerful and very tasty authentic Thai food. Situated on top of the Bónus supermarket on Laugavegur it offers a variety of Thai dishes including a big selection of noodles.

3. Ramen Momo
Reykjavik's first Tibetan restaurant is absolutely tiny and serves wonderful ramen noodles in weighty portions of vegetables, meat, tofu, eggs and fragrant herbs.
4. Noodle Station
A firm favourite among locals, Noodle Station has now opened a second branch on Laugavegur in addition to the original one on Skólavörðustígur. The noodles are simple, made from one spicy broth and you can then pick if you want vegetables or meat. Lots of beansprouts and an optional dash of sugar.

5.Yummi Yummi
This basic noodle shop near the Hlemmur bus central is frequented by the students of the Iceland Academy of the Arts next door is your basic and fairly cheap noodle shop with the sweet cashewy Pad Thai being a firm favourite.
