Seyðisfjörður, one of the most picturesque towns in Iceland, is the place to be this weekend as the LungA art festival for young people comes to a close.

The festival, which spans one week every summer is now being held for the fifteenth time and young artists flock to Seyðisfjörður in the east fjords to participate in numerous workshops which culminate in a closing weekend of exhibitions and concerts. The festival lends a magical air to the town which becomes crowded with creative people.

The weather on Friday defied the abysmal weather forecast, instead the sun shone on festival goers aho some even went for a swim in the cold waters of this beautiful fjord.

Friday night saw the performance of dance piece Predator by Saga Sigurðardóttir and on Saturday the workshops came to a close with numerous exhibitions all over town, including performances of electronic experimental music, dance performances and a photography exhibition. LungA comes to a close tonight, Saturday, with a fifteenth birthday concert featuring artists that include DJ Flugvél og Geimskip, Grísalappalísa, Reykjavíkurdætur and Sykur.
