Dispute over "too loud" concert venue

The newly refurbished Gamla bío, a former cinema turned opera turned concert venue is in the middle of a dispute with its neighbour, the 101 Hotel.
Managers of Gamla bíó have not been able to apply for a licence for an increase in sound volume for its various concerts because of severe complaints from the managers of the hotel which is situated next door.
This week, plans to replace concert venues Gaukurinn, Húrra and Paloma with more tourist oriented activities made news.
