For a psychedelic, experimental start to your Easter weekend in Iceland, check out a special concert at Húrra on Wednesday, April 1st, featuring British group Grumbling Fur supported by indie Icelandic artist Sin Fang. The concert is organised by Icelandic music and art collective FALK (Fuck Art Lets Kill), a creative hub for Icelandic artists involved in experimental and electronic music and brought Pye Corner Audio to Iceland in September.
"I've been a fan of their music for a while. It's their whole attitude that's a very British form of magick and psychedelia - from Austin Osman Spare, to Alan Moore and Ben Wheatley. Kitchen sink surrealism if you will, "explains FALK member Cluness who approached Grumblling Fur last Christmas and asked if they fancied coming to Iceland to play a gig. "I had been speaking on an off with Daniel O'Sullivan on social media for a while, and I thought that it would always be interesting to bring them and their live show up to Iceland. Their live show is a blend of English romantic pop music, with melting experimentalism. They jumped at the chance of coming to Iceland."
Duo Alexander Tucker and Daniel O’Sullivan are long-time friends and collaborators and veterans of the UK experimental underground scene. Their latest album, ‘Preternaturals features collaborations from the likes of Tim Burgess of The Charlatans, and was placed on the 2014 Album of the Year lists in The Quietus, Q Magazine, Mojo, The Wire, The 405, Line Of Best Fit, and the New Yorker magazine.
