For the first time ever, Reykjavik main sights – Perlan, Hallgrímsskirkja and Harpa – have been dressed in green to celebrate St Patrick’s Day tomorrow.

St Patrick’s Day, 17 March, is the national day of Ireland. Six years ago, the Irish Tourist Board launched their ‘Global Greening’ initiative, with famous buildings all over the world being ‘greened up’ in honour of Ireland’s national day. Perlan, Hallgrímsskirkja and Harpa were all lit up green just before midnight last night.

This Reykjavik ‘greening’ has been organised in cooperation with WOWair, who is launching a new year-round scheduled route to Dublin in early June.
