The fifth German Film Days take place at Bíó Paradís from March 12th to March 22nd 2015.

The opening film is the award-winning
Beloved Sisters (Die Geliebte Schwestern),
based on the life of the German poet Friedrich Schiller and his love affair with the von Lengefeld sisters, Caroline and Charlotte. The film was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and as Germany’s representative for the Oscar as best foreign language film.

Other titles on the German Film days have received multiple awards and touch on various subjects, such as an escape from behind the Berlin wall in
West
, an unusual tale about a chambermaid´s love and voyeurism in
The Chambermaid Lynn
, where Young Vicky Krieps is mesmerizing as Lynn. Also on offer is a sensitive, compassionate and engagingly unsentimental portrait of two boys and their rather brutal plight in
Jack
, a teenage girl’s search for the path to God in
Station of the Cross
, and a hard-hitting Austrian-German Western,
The Dark Valley
, directed by Andreas Prochaska, which was selected as the Austrian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards.

The German Film Days are organized in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Denmark and the German Embassy in Reykjavík.

All films will be screened in German with English subtitles.
