The Left-Green Movement start their national assembly today and you can expect some action over the weekend. It is clear that a new chairman will take over the leadership, and then the incumbent chairman has a counter offer from a colleague for the position of vice chairman.
Various proposals will be considered, such as one about the dissolution of the government.
The Left-Green Movement’s national meeting will start at 16.20 today and tomorrow a new leadership in the party will be elected. The program includes various topics and among them is a program called: "Motherhood in the age of neoliberalism."
Vote at 15.30 tomorrow
Svandís Svavarsdóttir is the only candidate who has announced her candidacy for chairman. There is therefore a high probability that she will take over after former Prime Minister and presidential candidate, Katrín Jakobsdóttir's departure from government, but Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson has been acting chairman since then.

Also, Hólmfríður Jenný Árnadóttir, leader of the Left-Green Movement in the Southern Constituency, has offered herself the position of secretary of the party.
The board election will take place at 15.30 tomorrow and then it will be clear who the VG leaders will be.
