The detention of the man suspected of killing a couple in Neskaupstaður at the end of August has been extended until October 4.
This is stated in an announcement from the police chief in East Iceland, which says that the investigation into the case is in full swing and is progressing well. It also says that a lot of work is ahead in processing the data, which will take time.
The man is suspected of having killed the couple, who were in their eighties, in Neskaupstaður, but he was then arrested in Reykjavík.
