The eruption at the Sundhnúkagígar crater row, which began on May 29, appears to be over. No activity was visible when the civil defenses flew drones over the crater at noon for observation.

This is stated in an announcement by the Icelandic Met Office.

It also states that the seismic activity at the nearby earthquake meters has subsided and is now comparable to that measured before the eruption began.

However, it is still expected that the older lava flow will continue to flow slowly along the northern part of Mt Sýlingarfell and at the L1 defense wall where the lava has been splattering over the wall.
