Still activity in three craters
The eruption at Sundhnúkagígar crater row has not changed much last night, but it has been going on for eleven days, or since March 16.
Lovísa Mjöll Guðmundsdóttir, a natural hazard specialist at the Icelandic Met Office, tells us that there have been little changes to the eruption since yesterday.
“It’s still an active eruption in three craters with similar intensity as yesterday,” Guðmundsdóttir says Lovísa, with the northern crater being the largest.
She says that there was only an increase in the sulphur dioxide levels last night and morning, but not enough to call for any course of action.
