Blue Lagoon closed – at least until tonight

The management of Blue Lagoon has decided to extend the temporary closure of the company to the end of today and the situation will be then re-evaluated.

As is well known, the Blue Lagoon was closed and the company’s hotel was evacuated on Thursday last week when a volcanic eruption broke out at the Sundhnúka crater row at six o’clock in the morning. Since then, the company’s operations in Svartsengi have been closed.

People are getting accustomed to the drill

“We will contact all guests who have confirmed reservations during the closing period,” the company announced.

Guests are also advised to change their reservation or cancel on the Blue Lagoon’s website.
