A deep fissure lies beneath the artificial turf field in the football club in Grindavík.
A photographer and a journalist from mbl.is watched the work on the fissure yesterday, but the grass was being peeled off to check the extent of the fissure.
The responders believe the fissure is about nine meters deep but it lies perpendicular to the field. The building was built in 2008.
On the fissure of the depression
The sports building is located on the fissure of the depression which was formed during the volcanic eruption in January.
On the other side of the building, there are the boundaries of an even larger depression, which was formed during the magma-run on November 10.
The house is situated between the two depressions which have been discovered within the town limits of Grindavík.
