Lot of hard crashes in zero visibility

“There’s been a lot of crashes this morning and a lot of very bad crashes. I’m mostly blaming that blinding blizard that came earlier. It was just zero visibility,” Kristján Kristjánsson, CEO of Árekstur.is, tells mbl.is.
As reported earlier, traffic in the capital area was slow this morning, as the traffic was bad and, as Kristjánsson points out, it was almost zero visibility for a while, which made it difficult for drivers.
“I witnessed a car stopping in the street, or just on the side of the street, and just putting the hazard lights on and standing on the brake. People couldn’t drive,” Kristjánsson says of the situation in traffic when the weather was the worst.
He says that since eight o’clock this morning there have been approximately 20 crashes in the capital area. He believes that about eight cars are completely ruined after the crashes of the morning.
Thankfully, he says that injuries were minor in these crashes.
