"Must be the Icelandic record for five star reviews"

The DIVE.IS staff was delighted last weekend when the company celebrated the remarkable milestone of receiving its ten thousandth and fifth star review on the travel website Tripadvisor, with the highest rating available on Tripadvisor being five stars, the lowest being one.

People who are traveling often use Tripadvisor to organize their trip by checking reviews and ratings that other travellers have given to certain destinations, hotels, restaurants and entertainment. The website is the largest of its kind in the world.

Proud of the team

The company specializes in diving and snorkeling in Silfragjá fissure in Þingvellir, Iceland, as well as waiting for other diving trips and PADI diving courses.

Earlier this summer, their snorkeling trip in Silfra was selected on the “Best of the Best” Tripadvisor’s list, featuring the highest-rated snorkeling products in the world, and this was the third time in a row the tour has made it to this list.

Höskuldur Elefsen, the company’s CEO, says he is proud of his team and the results and believes this is an Icelandic record for the number of five-star reviews.

Have their very best day

“I am extremely proud of our success inside the Tripadvisor,” managing director Höskuldur Elefsen tells mbl.is.

“This is the result of having a national team working in the company and being able to offer a unique experience in Silfra. It’s pretty clear that many of our customers have their very best day in Silfra and they’ll be happy to take the time to write us a beautiful post-trip message.

Getting so many good reviews has taken years. Now we’ve passed 10,000 five-star reviews and that must be the Icelandic record for the number of good reviews,” Elefsen says.

Scuba diving courses for Icelanders

The company is known as the 5-star PADI IDC Center and offers all major PADI diving courses, from beginner courses to diving instructor courses.

“We recently started offering a course called the outlandish package. It works by completing the first two parts of the course at home, the online theoretical study and practical exercises in Ásvallalaug, but then finishing the third and last part, the outdoor exercises, with another PADI Dive Center where you’re suitable, for example, abroad, the next time you’re in Tenerife on your vacation,” Elefsen told mbl.is.
