Now when the best fishing season is upon us, foreigners on private jets and prosperous local companies are racing to get to the best of the best rivers, other forms of fishing are also happening. Fish are of varying value, and the size is not always an accurate measurement of the exhilaration involved in the fishing process. We heard of a great adventure that a three year old has fishing in Lake Elliðavatn.
“I caught this fish for everyone in the family,” he announced to his grandmother by phone at the end of the day’s fishing. Egill Óli Andrason Clausen is three years old and has been a keen fisherman since he first started to be able to express himself. Ever since he saw pictures of his grandparents fishing all over the world, he has said he is a fisherman and even introduced himself as such to others.
On Friday, Egill Óli went to the fishing shop to visit his grandparents to buy fishing gear with his father and older siblings. Þórey and Hafsteinn were invited to visit the fishing store. He was very excited and wanted to buy all the spindles and hooks he saw in the store. Upon returning home, he started looking for the worms that finally were found in the neighbors’ garden. The trip was to Elliðavatn lake. His father put a worm on a hook, and the short fisherman himself threw the line in with his new fishing rod from grandma.

Egill Óli turned to his older siblings, who were getting ready when the short one shouted, “Some fish jumped on the float.” His father thought that the line was stuck and was just taking his time preparing the rods for the older ones. However, that changed when he saw the three year old trying to shore up this beautiful trout by himself. This fish was an absolute treasure and not just for the young fisherman but also for other members of his family.
