The twelve-month inflation rate is now 8.9%, down from May when the inflation rate was 9.5%.

This is reflected in the figures of the Statistics Iceland, which today published the Icelandic Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June.

The consumer price index currently stands at 595.6 points, up 0.85% from the previous month. The consumer price index (CPI) for non-housing is 491.1 points, up 0.68% from May 2023.

The cost of owner-occupied housing increased by 1.6%, which affected the index by 0.31%. Hotel and restaurant services prices increased by 1.5%, which affected the index by 0.31%.
