Firefighters in Austur-Húnavatnssýsla had a symbolic ceremony yesterday where they showed their partner and colleague, Kári Kárason, his family and "all those who are hurting" their respect and empathy.

Kári Kárason is the man who was shot at in his home in Blönduós last Sunday morning. His wife, Eva Hrund, died in the attack, but Kárason is still seriously injured after being shot in the stomach.

A picture from the ceremony was posted on Facebook on the page of the firefighters of Austur-Húnavatnssýsla today and they kindly allowed mbl.is to publish it.

"It is not possible to put into words all the feelings that we are going through because of this horrible tragedy, but a picture says more than many words," says in the post on Facebook.
