28 May 2016 Exploring Icelandic folk tales, who told them, what they are about, and where they supposedly took place, has recently become very easy. A project called Sagnagrunnur, dealing with all of these aspects, was recently turned into an interactive map.

She points out to mbl.is that the area is a thriving community of elves and that in recent years, elves have had to abandon their farms and fishing to move to the harsh Icelandic highlands.
