Icelandic President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson met with Russian President Vladimir Putin today. Joining them in Arkhangelsk was Foreign Minister Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson.
The discussion revolved around matters of the Arctic as well as international affairs such as the Russian embargo on Icelandic products.
"It was a good meeting. Our countries have a long history of communication spanning from business and culture to security. We are certainly not in agreement on many things but it's important for both nations to communicate regularly and honestly," said Foreign Minister Halldórsson.
