Technical investigators from the Capital Area Police were still on the scene yesterday after a report of a death in a small apartment building in Kópavogur on Sunday. The man who died was around forty years old and, according to mbl.is’s sources, of Portuguese origin.
Police reveal nothing
The police are withholding information about the case, but Vignir Örn Oddgeirsson of the police technical department says the unit arrived at the scene immediately at the outset.
“Circumstances can vary in complexity, even when nothing criminal has occurred, but we cannot disclose anything further about the case. The violent crime division provides information on what is going on,” says Vignir.
He adds that the role of the department is to assess whether anything unlawful may have taken place leading up to the death.
