Only one departure was scheduled from Keflavík International Airport today – an Icelandair flight for Copenhagen that left at 7:44 am.

EasyJet will not be offering service to Iceland until mid-December, mbl.is reports. According to the company’s website, flights between London Luton Airport and Keflavík will resume December 14.

WizzAir still offers service to Iceland, with two flights a week to and from Warsaw. In addition, Finnair, Air Baltic, Lufthansa and British Airways offer service to Iceland, albeit infrequently.

On Friday, two departures are scheduled from Keflavík, one to Copenhagen with Icelandair, the other one to London with British Airways.

On Saturday, five flights are scheduled from Keflavík: to Warsaw and Gdansk with WizzAir, to Copenhagen with Icelandair, to Riga with Air Baltic, and to Nuuk with Air Greenland.

So far this month, there have been only 11 departures from Keflavík International Airport.

Ásdís Ýr Pétursdóttir, media representative for Icelandair, tells mbl.is the airline plans to maintain minimum operation while current disease prevention rules at the border remain in place. These rules are good through November 30.

“Still, we’re constantly reevaluating the situation and could react quickly as soon as the situation improves and demand picks up,” she states.

“We emphasize offering good service during these times, and we transport all those who want to or need to travel to their destination, even when their original flight is canceled. We do so with flights through other destinations of ours, or in cooperation with other airlines, without any additional cost to the passenger.”
