Keflavík International Airport is among the winners of the Airports Service Quality Awards from Airports Council International. It other words, it is among the best airports of its size in Europe in terms of quality of service, Morgunblaðið reports.
This is the result of international surveys conducted by Airports Council International at all major airports in the world. The awards recognize those airports around the world that deliver the best customer experience in the opinion of their own passengers.
“The Airport Service Quality Awards represent the highest possible recognition for airport operators around the world and recognize excellence in customer experience,” ACI World Director General Angela Gittens is quoted as saying on ACI’s website .
Keflavík International Airport is listed among airports that receive 5-15 million passengers a year. The airport has participated in ACI polls since 2004 and has consistently ranked high on the European list, which spans more than 100 airports throughout the continent.
“It is now clear that Keflavík International Airport is among eight airports receiving the highest average rating in the poll,” a statement from Isavia, the company that operates the airport, reads, “and, as a result, it gets an award from ACI for quality of service.”
Other airports of a similar size receiving an award are the airports in Alicante, Spain; Bergen, Norway; Izmir, Turkey; Sochi, Russia; Luqa, Malta; Newcastle, the UK; and Porto, Portugal.
