The chief epidemiologist in Iceland has added the ski resort Ischgl in Austria to the areas defined as ones with a risk of COVID-19 infection, mbl.is reports.

Previously, the following had been defined as risk areas: China, South Korea, Italy and Iran. The chief epidemiologist advises against unnecessary travel to these areas.

The addition of Ischgl to the list means that people in Iceland who have been at the ski resort since February 29 are asked to stay in quarantine at home for 14 days and to report it to their health clinic.

Should people experience flu-like symptoms, they are asked to call doctors on call at 1700. If calling from a foreign number, the number to call is +354 544-4113 to receive instructions on how to proceed.

If you’ve been in the Ischgl ski area and are experiencing symptoms of the disease, you are asked to wear a mask and take precautions to avoid passing the disease to others.
