New lighthouse to be raised at Sæbraut
The Reykjavik City Planning Council has given the go ahead to put up a new lighthouse at Sæbraut, a seaside road in Reykjavik. They expect it to be a popular viewing point for tourists just as the statue Sófarið, also on Sæbraut.
The cost of the project is 75 million ISK and Faxaflóahafnir, the association of Icelandic ports will pay 25 million. Construction will begin in February and be finished in June.
