According to head of the Suðurnes police, Ólafur Helgi Kjartansson, security matters are being studied at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland following the Brussels attacks. 

"We are taking this very seriously and looking into our security matters," says Kjartansson. A meeting took place this morning to go over emergency procedures. The security level has however not been ramped up for the moment. "But as always when something like this happens we are on our toes."

An announcement from the Suðurnes police states that the department have decided to step up security at Keflavik International Airport due to this mornings bomb attacks in cooperation with the armed special forces in Iceland. This decision was made in cooperation with the state police department.
