"Mother Theresa of Iceland" steps into presidential race
A thirteenth candidate for President of Iceland has stepped forward, nurse Guðrún Margrét Pálsdóttir who is one of the founders of the ABC children's aid charity.
Pálsdóttir announced her decision at a press meeting at Grand Hótel in Reykjavik this afternoon. She said that she looked into the Bible for guidance when deciding to run for president and had found one verse after another that convinced her.
Her brother described her as "The Mother Theresa of Iceland who has worked incessantly without pay to help the poor."
