Bike share in Reykjavik could soon become option

The Reykjavik City Council has authorised for bids to be advertised for companies interested in running a bike share in Reykjavik. "An exciting option to look into," says Mayor Dagur B.Eggertsson. 

"We have been looking into how other cities run bike shares. They do so in different ways and the results vary, too. In those cities where this works well, the city seeks companies to be in partnership with and we're going to find out if Icelandic companies find this an interesting project."

In an announcement from the City of Reykjavik it states that bike shares are popular option in  many cities abroad to ensure environmentally friendly transport.
