The alignment of the moon, Venus, Jupiter and Mars is at it's maximum on Saturday morning which will mean an outstanding celestial show in the early hours. The Northern Lights, highly visible last night, will also be on display for the upcoming nights.

"I recommend that people start their day really early on Saturday and look to the skies to the east at 7.30 am," says astronomer Sævar Helgi Bragason of the Seltjarnarnes stargazing society.

On Saturday morning, Jupiter and Venus will be visible, with Jupiter shining brighter above Venus. Next to Venus will be the crescent moon and Mars just above it."We'll be able to see three planets and our moon all clustered together," he says, stressing that it will be a most spectacular show.

Thousands of people are currently visiting Iceland for the Iceland Airwaves festival and will also be able to enjoy the truly stellar sight, as long as they're up early enough on Saturday morning.
