The Tower Suites, a new luxury hotel opened in Reykjavik in June. The hotel prides itself in designer furniture and the Icelandic art that adorns the walls.

The hotel is located at Höfðatörg square in the Borgartún financial district, near the city centre. It offers spectacular views of the ocean, Mount Esja and Snæfellsjökull glacier as well as the Tower Suites Skylounge which serves drinks and breakfast. The hotel suites measure from 45 to 65 square metres and are all named after mountains surrounding the capital.

The hotel was designed by Ásgeir Ásgeirsson and Áslaug Þorgeirsdóttir at T.ark architects with the view being a focal point. Furniture and lighting comes from designers such as Fritz Hansen, Tom Dixon, Mooi and Space Cph.

Among the Icelandic art on display is a large aluminium sculpture in the Skylounge by artist Sigurður Árni Sigurðsson.

Each hotel suite is fitted with a wine cooler offering specially selected wines, Nespresso coffee machines, binoculars, Apple TV, an I-pad, a television, a yoga mat and cosmetic products from Sóley. Included in the price of the suite is entry to the prestigious Laugar Spa and breakfast is made by Happ, an organic restaurant also situated in the Höfðatorg tower.
